I have an October Afternoon Set for sale, it's a great price, $19.99 on etsy. Normally these items would retail for a total of $35.00. I ordered multiples but ended up not needing as many as I thought.

Handmade necklaces.

These are for my niece for Christmas. I'm going to put a poem with them. "One to keep and one to share, for you and a special friend to wear!" 

 Now I have to make another set for her sister.  Just trying to find the right colours.  This paper came in a crop and create delivered kit. I didn't even know I had it, it was the perfect colours, so cute!

Canadian Black Friday Deals just don't compare to the US

The Deals just don't compare. Every year I have gone to Black Friday in Duluth,MN. It feels weird this year being The American Thanksgiving Weekend and not heading south. I was looking at a few flyers and I can tell even at a quick glance some things are about twice as much. 

Target has lindor chocolate truffles 2 for $10, at Mennards in the US they are 2 for 5! Quite a difference, twice as much. Same with movies, $4/DVD at target in Canada and &1.99 in the US. 

Another thing on my list is the new Skylanders Swap Force. Regular $80, Target in Canada has it for $49, but in the US stores have it for as low as $39. 

I do like to shop local, so this year I'm spending more on some gifts from local retailers, making a lot of my own stuff and just cutting back on the amount of things I buy. I bet in the end when you account for hotel, gas, eating out and time off to go to the States we will come out ahead and enjoy the peace of mind of keeping money in our community.  

One day after...not anymore! The other big difference is start times, every year the American stores had earlier and earlier start times. 3, 4, 5am... Now stores open at midnight or even 8pm on Thursday! In Canada our earliest start time is 7am!  I suspect I'll still get up and head to the stores early tomorrow before my kids go to school and husband leaves for work. Just make a quick appearance to scoop up some door buster deals. The superstore has some promotions too, they're deals don't appeal to me but the marketing does with their "Black Frid eh!"

Peachy Cheap has another October Afternoon Christmas kit like the one I've been make all these cards with. The only difference is the paper pad it Holiday Style, instead of make it Merry.

I ordered neclace kits off etsy so I could make some gifts. Here is my first one for a friend in some colours that remind me of her. I packaged it up in some cute Stampin Up! matching papers!

While I'm waiting for my new stuff to come in from October Afternoon's Very Merry I decided to play with one of their really old Christmas lines. Still love it!

I've spent hours on end watching videos from people who got their Santa Sacks in 2012.  They look amazing! My husband ordered one for me today, it will be a Christmas gift, not sure I can wait that long to see inside!!!

Paper pumpkin October

Here is the October Paper Pumpkin project from Stampin Up! I added a few extras to dress it up. I was inspired by some other pins I saw of what people did with this kit. It turned out cute but I cancelled my subscription I'm afraid the next kit will be some super cute Christmas card kit, but I just got that Christmas set off peachy cheap for $20, it's my favourite company October afternoon, and has enough supplies to make way more than just 4-6 cards. I still look forward to seeing what Novemebr holds!

Sunny with a chance of smiles

This was a challenge at the Crop and Create put on by Scrapbook and Cards Today. Something old, new, borrowed, cool. The old is the Bo Bunny paper..new is a tin pin I got at the crop when I signed in, the borrowed is the flower under the tin pin and the cool is the title, I thought it was a fun play on the new movie that just released.
