365 Card Recipe

365 has a challenge today to follow a card recipe, I have to say it was kind of tough because I love to layer pp, but I came up with a design that I liked.

Here is the recipe:

5x5 card (solid colored card stock - may be smooth or textured)
4x4 patterned paper (you may alter the edges if you'd like)
1 shape (circle, square, star, heart, etc.) - must be solid color
3 jewels
alpha stickers

For the 4x4 paper I scalloped and inked the edges then folded it 1/3 of the way to show the pp on the other side. Again everything for this card (accept the chit chat thickers) came from Created With Paper's new release The Abby Road Collection going online in less that a week!

Enviro Callenge and Mojo Monday!

Okay so I've already completed a card today, but how could I not do the 365 Challenge as well, considering it combines my two passions. I spent 10 years as an environmental educator and program co-coordinator for EcoSuperior, a non-profit environmental organization. So when the challenge at 365 was to encorporate recycled elements into a card I couldn't let the opportunity pass me by!

Here my recycled elements are blue pop tabs held in place by a brad with ribbon tied on the opening. All of the other materials for this card came from next month's Abby Road Collection that will come out in one week!

Then there is also this fun sketch site called Mojo Monday that I was just introduced too and I loved the sketch so much I just had to play along! I also created this card from our kit that will come out May 1st - The Abby Road Collection, great Bo Bunny products and so many fun elements to work with.

Also a reminder to all our readers, we just added a followers feature to our blog and we will be drawing from our followers on April 30th to win a card kit Valued at $21.95!

Crazy for thickers!

This card was inspired by this week's 2sku! I've spent the past two days ogling over the American Crafts thickers trying to decide which fonts and which colours to bring in, and after getting my order submitted I decided I just had to work with the Fawnd of You collection and the chestnut chit chat's we already have in stock. I can't wait to get these great products online, they have some fantastic new sets and we're also bringing in some of the old favourites!

Journalling layout

I had some girlfriend's over on the weekend for a crop, and although not super productive, very fun. I did manage to get this journaling layout done. We just (at 3 years old) took soothers away from our little girl and I think it was more traumatic for me then her...because she's not my baby anymore. Anyway here is what I created with this month's Fawnd of You collection and the most awesome chit chat thickers from American Crafts! Yes after numerous layouts and cards, I finally ran out of letters from the kit.

This week's 2s4u!

Here is another card created from Created With Paper's Fawnd of You Collection. This was inspired by this week's 2s4u. I must say I'm loving the font of the letters that came in this kit, they're so adaptable, I have cut letters I need out of the letters I don't seem to use, like this u is actually half of an upside down m! Don't be shy to trim these stickers down to the letter you need.

Card Pattern's Sketch #9

Created With Paper is sponsoring Card Pattern's this week, a terrific sketch site with very talented designers. We are giving away the WhiteOut Explore Collection, so I thought it would be nice to make a card with materials from that same line. This is my take on CP's Sketch Number 9! Our designer Tammy has created a wonderful card based on this week's sketch with the current Fawnd of You Collection which can be purchased online now!

Fawnd of You Layout!

This was a fun layout to create, I wanted to point out a really fun part of this kit and that is the paper trims that come on the bottoms of the designer cardstock. I folded up one of the strips and stapled x's in a couple of places and I really love the added dimension it gave my project.
